Vedanta Zinc International (VZI) is today announcing a leading greenfields digitalisation initiative which will see a ‘Smart Ore Movement’ system built into VZI’s flagship Gamsberg Project.


The Northern Cape MEC for Health, Mr Lebogang Motlhaping, the Mayor of Khai-Ma, Mrs Pasqueline van Heerden, and the General Manager of Vedanta Zinc International’s Black Mountain Complex, Mr Andre Trytsman, yesterday officially opened the new Aggeneys Public Clinic, a successful public-private partnership in the interests of the community.


Skorpion Zinc is deeply saddened to confirm that an employee of Prinsloo Drilling, Mr Stephanus Moore, has tragically passed away after being seriously injured in a borehole drilling accident at Skorpion Zinc Mine on Saturday 19 August.

Deputy Mineral Resources Minister Godfrey Oliphant today ended a 2 ½-day visit to Vedanta Zinc International’s Black Mountain Mine (BMM) complex in the Northern Cape where he was able to take a detailed look at the developmental, operational and social components of the mine’s activities.


Black Mountain Mining, operated by Vedanta Zinc International, has established an employee share ownership plan (ESOP), the terms of which have been reached through consultation between mine management and the National Union of Mineworkers.


Skorpion Zinc Mine, a subsidiary of Vedanta Zinc International, have reached an agreement in respect of the impact of current restructuring efforts, which will see the retrenchments being minimised.
