Grounds Maintenance Cut grass and edges of all parks and gardens on premises of Company excluding house gardens. Keep flowerbeds clean and from weeds – excluding house gardens. Planting of trees/flowers provided by the mine for mine gardens Apply fertilizer/topsoil as and when required. All tar roads/paved areas to be kept clean of grass cuttings. Keep area of at least 2 meters around mine buildings free from weeds excluding business premises which will be the responsibility of the owners. Swimming Pool Maintenance Areas to be maintained: Black Mountain Recreation Club large swimming pool at the North Village Black Mountain Recreation Club large swimming pool at the South Village Black Mountain Recreation Club baby swimming pool at the North Village Black Mountain Recreation Club baby swimming pool at the South Village Golf Club swimming pool Comply with Company’s standard present maintenance procedure. This procedure is available at The Surface Engineering Workshop. Undertake swimming pool water treatment and chemicals as follows: Sampling daily 5 days per week Chemical dosing when required, Sweeping bottom of surface when required Clear leaf baskets daily, 5 days per week Wash mosaic tiles when required Provide labour for replacement of filters and pumps Repair & replace all water pipes (mine to supply material) Provide required basic tools Sewage Ponds Maintenance Daily cleaning of baskets and trenches at in flow to primary ponds Daily cleaning of fat traps Weeding around sewage ponds regularly Repair and replace all pipes (mine to supply material) Maintenance of Irrigation The maintenance of all irrigation systems of mine gardens, sports-fields and houses (D type to A type) The replacement of sprinkles The replacement of valves Replacement of controllers The repair and replacement of all piping pertaining to irrigation damages however caused by house occupants, theft, and vandalism and shall be for the Company’s account. The replacement or repair of normal wear and tear or damages by Contractor will be for Contractor’s account. Repairs and replacement of piping from Saddleback to golf course will be the Company responsibility. Repairs and replacement of piping from sewage ponds to golf course will be for Contractor’s responsibility (mine to supply pipes in excess of 50mm) Maintenance of all drip feed systems to trees Maintenance of Domestic Refuse Removal of all domestic refuse from the North and South Village Houses, shopping center, sports clubs, farmhouse, hospital, main offices, police station, stores and store yard, churches, Christmas tree area, South Village Care, all schools, private school, training center, township engineering, security and mine offices once of week. Removal of all domestic refuse at Recreation Clubs (North & South), South Village Hostel and No.2 Hostel three times a week. Collections of domestic refuse once a week from the Deeps Caravan Camp. Issue of refuse bin plastic bags to replace those collected. Removal of Garden Refuse Removals of garden refuse from the North and South Village houses, Sport fields, Hospital, Shopping Centre, Main Office Area, Christmas Tree Area, Hostels, Security, Police Station, Kennels, Training Centre, Farmhouse and Mine Offices, every second week. It may occur that sand is swept up in the garden refuse and the contract covers the removal of this as well. Refuse Disposal Site Maintenance The contractor will supply the personnel, equipment, machinery and materials to do the maintenance of the domestic and garden refuse disposal sites at Black Mountain Mine. The work envisaged shall be as follows: The compressing of the garden refuse disposal site twice a month. The creation of cut outs to facilitate water drainage and diversion. The Contractor shall report to the HR Manager any deviations or non-conformities that will be experienced. All excess material removed shall be disposed of in a manner agreed to. Other Responsibilities Collection of refuse in and outside refuse dumps once a week. Cleaning and weeding of pavements, open spaces, parks and parking areas in the Villages, Single Quarters, Hostels, Recreation Clubs, Lemoenplaas as and when required. Collection of refuse along the road from Township to the Shaft and from the Security to the N14 T-Junction, once a month. Pruning and cutting of all trees on pavements, parks and parking areas including trimming of tree roots which are damaging paving or may result in a trip and fall hazard as and when required. The cutting and cleaning around the Palm Trees along the road to the shaft, Training Centre, Christmas tree area and trees in the Villages as when required. Removal of trees or branches caused by storm damages (Should the number of trees which have been blown over are in excess of two the rest will be treated on a tender basis provided that such work will be done after normal working hours or by using additional labour) Removal of dead tree stumps and casual trees. Clean the outskirts of both Villages on monthly basis including storm water trenches. Clean road shoulders from Village to Shaft Area as and when required. Clean around airport runways as and when required. Undertake additional work on separate orders if required or requested. Tender must be submitted in excel as per the attached BOQ.
